Stress Inoculation Training on Apple Vision Pro

ImmerSIT is a stress inoculation training system: repeated, controlled exposure to pressure builds tolerance for it. An athlete is placed inside an immersive high-pressure environment while a heart-rate chest strap streams their physiological response in real time, and a coach works from a tablet console — raising or lowering the intensity, then guiding the athlete back down. The measurement is what makes it trainable: the coach can see the athlete's stress response and the recovery as they happen, across multiple session histories.


Developed solo: two native Apple applications, a web console for coaches, and the supporting media delivery service.

ImmerSIT Dashboard (iPad)

  • Live heart rate and heart-rate-variability readouts streamed from a chest strap, with a continuously updating trend view and a plain-language stress indicator
  • Controls to raise and lower the intensity of the athlete's environment, trigger specific cues, and manage playback; each taking effect in the headset within about a second
  • A one-tap guided breathing exercise, mirrored on both devices so the coach can pace the athlete through it
  • A live view of what the athlete is currently looking at
  • Automatic, millisecond-accurate logging of every action taken during a session, plus coach notes
  • After action report generation that aggregates logs, notes, and graphical visualizations of the session
  • A guided preflight setup checklist and a structured session lifecycle: calibration, live scene, recovery, review

  • Immersive video playback across several projection formats, including 360°, Apple Immersive Video, and 2D video with seamless transitions between scenes
  • Spatially positioned audio, controllable independently of the picture
  • A reactive guided breathing visual that responds to the athlete's live heart rate
  • In-headset gesture controls, so the athlete retains agency without removing the device

SITAuthor (Web Console)

  • Athlete, coach, and team management, with invitations, self-signup, and administration
  • Authoring and publishing of the immersive content used in sessions
  • Session history, cross-session trend analysis, and generated after action reports
  • Video replay of a completed session, reviewable alongside the session's recorded data

Authenticated Media Delivery Service

  • Resumable upload of multi-gigabyte training media
  • Persistent storage of media and session replays, siloed per team with per-user access control
  • Authorized delivery to client devices in the field

Scope of the Work

I designed and implemented each part, from first commit to final state:

  • Real-time physiological signal processing and the stress-classification logic derived from it
  • Immersive video rendering and scene management on Apple Vision Pro
  • Real-time coordination between two devices over a local peer-to-peer link
  • On-device video rendering and export of session replays
  • Large-media upload, storage, authorization, and delivery
  • Cloud application, data model, and reporting
  • Product design, interaction design, and visual design across all three surfaces
  • Written technical design specifications and implementation plans preceding each feature
